Atlanta Pet Friendly Events in March

Looking for pet friendly events to venture to this spring and summer? If you're anything like me, you're always browsing the internet to find outdoor happenings that you can enjoy with your canine companion.  Well, look no further as I have done the work for you and will give you a quick rundown of some of the most popular pet events coming up.

Doggie Dash 5K Run/Walk!

Are you a fan of the Piedmont Park Dog Park?  Help maintain and enhance the park by attending the Piedmont Park Doggie Dash 5k as all proceeds go directly to the dog park.  Taking place on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at The Promenade at Piedmont Park, the entry fee is $25 in advance or $35 the day of the event.  Want to wind down after the race? Refreshments are available at the finish line while you hang out in the sponsor circle or play some fetch on the promenade.  And, of course, what's a race without a commemorative t-shirt? For more information or to register, visit

Run for a Reason

Want a choice of a shorter course or just want to have some fun with your pup? Come to Suwanee Town Center Park on March 22, 2014 for the Georgia SPCA 4th Annual Run for the Rescues 5k, One Mile Fun Run and Festival to benefit homeless pets.  From 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, enjoy food and beverages, arts and crafts, inflatables for the kids and treats for dogs, cats and runners alike. Vendors of all kinds will have samples and products for sale. Pet contests like best trick and shortest dog will be held and local rescues will be in attendance with dogs for adoption.  Is your dog ready to be a Canine Good Citizen? As well as demonstrations, CGC testing will be available at the Smart Critters booth.  The one mile Fun Run begins at 8:30 am and the 5k starts at 9:15 am.  To check out vendors, start a fundraising page and more, go to
